Hand-Made Ice Fishing Tip-ups - Made in Maine

About Us

Welcome to our website! We are proud of the fact that our product is all hand made. Our line of Ice fishing Tip-ups are Made in Maine with quality white ash. We have a variety of tip-ups from Heritage Laker Standard with no finish to our 45" Heritage Ice Bear Classic which is stained and varnished. We also offer a variety of colors and parts.

The company is managed by wife and husband (Debbie & Rodney Buswell Sr.). Heritage works closely with the family’s other business, Peavey Manufacturing. Peavey has been manufacturing quality logging tools, handles, and dowels in Maine, continuously since 1857. We mill our own wood for our ice fishing traps from huge white ash logs grown in the Northeast, then we kiln dry the timber and finish in into Heritage traps. The Buswell family is involved in every aspect of both businesses. The oldest son is involved in sales, and heads-up scheduling, production, and purchasing; the youngest son oversees the sawmill, optimizer, and forge shop. The daughter heads up the company's safety program, and the son-in-law heads up finishing, shipping, and maintenance. There are also a dozen grandchildren involved.

Our 1935 product catalog advertised that “our goods are made the best we know how, for we never skimp on materials or workmanship”. More than 80 years later it’s still very true! We're a normal American family that lives in a tiny town in Maine. We make exceptional ice fishing tip-ups that will last for generations.  We're wicked good at what we do.

We invite you to become a customer and hope to make you a loyal Heritage Tip-Up fan.
